Residues from additives used in animal feeding are not always true residues. Animal metabolism, which is an intermediate between chemical compounds and consumers should be considered. The concept of relay toxicity is criticized. Theory concerning residues are exposed. Comparison of FDA [Food and Drug Administration] regulations and EEC are made mainly in experimental procedure for carcinogenicity studies. A combination of factors and tested should be considered for a good safety evaluation.
