"Turkey syndrome '65" (sometimes referred to as turkey "Y" disease) was recognized in Gt. Britain for the first time early in 1965, and quickly became of considerable economic importance. A similar condition has occurred for several years in Canada and the U.S.A. where it is known as "air sacculitis syndrome" and recently has appeared in Italy and New Zealand.
