A study was performed on the eye development of different species of Agnatha and Chondrichthyes [Lampetra fluviatilis, L. planeri and Lampetra sp., Galeus melastomus, Galeus sp., Scyliorhinus caniculus, S. stellaris, Scyliorhinus sp., Squalus acanthias, Mustelus canis, M. vulgaris, Mustelus sp., Raja asterias, R. batis, Raja sp., Torpedo marmorata, T. torpedo and Torpedo sp.] utilizing the collection of the Hubrecht Laboratory, The Netherlands. The main features of development and the staging of major events are reported.
