Data were from the diet surveys of Absts. 7617, Vol. 39 and 8134, Vol. 40. A third survey was of 20 Indian families selected at random from the Chats-worth housing scheme, Durban. Individual food intakes were found by 3-day weighing and the values for sucrose are presented. Average daily intake of sucrose is given for 11 groups by age from under 6 to over 50 years and for males and females separately.
