A technique is described which permits the closure of oroantral communications due to tooth extractions without surgical intervention. A stabilized venous blood clot is inserted into the alveolar fundus and hermetically closed with Histoacryl surgical adhesive. This technique was applied to 5 artificially opened maxillary sinuses; in 98.1% of the cases, it led to uneventful healing. It is applicable if the alveolar wall is intact and sufficiently high; it is especially recommended for dental practice.
