Examination of 50 slaughtered bulls showed the urethral diverticulum to lie 80-100 mm caudal to the colliculus seminalis, at the transition from the pelvic to the penile urethra. The presence of the diverticulum makes catheterization of the urinary bladder through the penile urethra very difficult.
