Vincristine and prednisolone induction and reinforcement therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in children

The treatment of ALL goes on conventional lines of (1) induction, (2) cranial prophylaxis and (3) maintenance. Children (25) between age 3-14 yr were treated uniformly for induction and CNS prophylaxis. During the maintenance phase 18 children in remission were randomized into 2 arms of a controlled study investigating the role of vincristine and prednisolone in induction therapy, and the importance of these drugs in reinforcement therapy to maintain long-term remission.
