Aspergillosis in a patient with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

A case is reported in a 3-yr-old boy from St. Lucia who had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and who presented initally with Aspergillus infection of the nasopharynx. The patient responded rapidly to treatment with amphotericin B (612 mg given over 51 d), coincident with resolution of his neutropenia as the underlying disease was treated.
