Use of Vagimid (Metronidazol) for chemotherapy of bacterial genital infections

Vagimid (metronidazole) was used for antibacterial therapy in 115 patients with obstetric or gynecological infections. The infections were brought under control in all cases. No metronidazole-sensitive organisms were recordable, following treatment. Use of metronidazole on such infectious processes, particularly in cases in which other chemotherapeutic agents have failed, or in combination with less effective medicaments, apparently is justified due to its strong action on obligate anaerobes which are etiologically involved in the majority of these diseases.
