In advocating the introduction of a simpler training curriculum I would emphasise that I am not devoid of ambition for the profession and that I am not opposed to higher education. I believe that the "complete" radiographer should be sufficiently knowledgeable as to be able to discuss intelligently all aspects of the activities of an X-ray department with radiologist, physicist and engineer alike. I submit, however, that such a degree of knowledge cannot be acquired as a result of a two- or a threeyear training and, even with longer periods, not by all. In all things, ambition must be geared to reality. It has been said, I think, by Miss K. C. Clark, that the gaining of our Diploma is but a start to an education in radiography- I think we should recognise that this is so.
