Extracranial reactive hemihyperemia and its diagnostic significance

A new phenomenon which may be of dignostic significance was discovered: this is an extracranial hyperemia of the facial skin and the eyes developing in ischemic cerebral stroke. The development of the extracranial reactive hemihyperemia is an indication of blockade of the internal, external or common carotid artery on the hyperemia side.
