Rat experiments showed that radicotomy of spinal cord roots at the L2-Z1 level causes functional disorders of bone marrow eliminating stimulation of hemopoiesis in response to acute blood losses. The deafferentiated bone marrow showed disturbed proliferation and differentiation of cellular elements and dystrophic changes in them [space flight applications were noted.].
