Isolated spontaneous bilateral ovarian hemorrhages as a cause of premature ovarian failure are documented. No evidence of associated vascular or systemic disease existed, and the cause of hemorrhage remains unknown. A secondary follicle was seen on ovarian biopsy shortly after spontaneous ovarian hemorrhages occurred. No ovarian follicles were observed in the biopsy obtained 1 yr later.
