A clinico pathologic study of malignant bone tumours

Of 125 cases of malignant bone tumors encountered over 10 yr pd, 91 were primary and 34 secondary. Most of the primary tumors occurred below the age of 20 yr. The long bones, particularly their ends, were frequently involved. The clinical and the radiological findings were non-specific in a considerable number of cases. The common tumors were osteosarcoma (51.7%), Ewing's sarcoma (12.1%), chondrosarcoma (11%) and fibrosarcoma (8.7%). The uncommon tumors encountered were malignant giant cell tumors, angiosarcoma, reticulum cell sarcoma, multiple myeloma, chondroma and undifferentiated tumors.
