The incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer is increasing in frequency among the younger age groups. As a rule it is detected late, after invasion of the cervical lymph nodes, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, etc. The condition can only be solved by early detection of the disease. The possibilities of an early diagnosis are reviewed. The importance of complex investigation (clinical aspect, precise localization, histopathologic structure, extent form of the tumor, coinvolvment of the neighboring tissues and organs, invasion of the lymph nodes and distal metastases was emphasized.
