A simple test of oral loading with a standard fat meal for the evaluation of intestinal lipid absorption is reported. Butter was used as the fat load in a dose of 0.5 g/kg of body weight. The concentration of triglycerides in the serum was determined. A curve with its peak value 210 min after fat administration, was plotted. The test illustrated well disturbances in lipid absorption in patients after partial resection of the intestine.
