N-(3-Phenoxybenzoyl)glycylvaline was isolated from the excreta of mallard ducks administered 3-phenoxybenzoic acid and characterized by mass spectrometry. The dipeptide conjugate is the principal metabolite of 3-phenoxybenzoic acid in this avian species, and this is evidently the first report of the involvement of valine in the conjugation of a xenobiotic in animals.
