The long-term survival of up to 6 mo., and a healthy survival rate up to 75% was achieved in animal is now in progress for clinical use. The human has different characteristics of behavior, life style, psychological reactions, and anatomical construction of the circulatory system than the experimental animals. There are problems and questions which should be solved before the artificial heart becomes a clinical reality. To get more suitable artificial hearts, the electrohydraulic heart is under development.
