Ten cases of patients with pyogenous spondylitis are reported and the less known or more controversial aspects of the disease are discussed. Pyogenous spondylitis is not a rare disease. Since it requires prolonged treatment, it is important to know how it presents. Aggressive diagnostic means and early and prolonged antibiotic treatment are stressed.
