Diagnosis and therapy of nutritive bronchial asthma in humans is one of the most complicated and unsolved problems of practical allergology. An attempt at diagnosing this disease using a special examination scheme was made. The scheme included several diagnostic methods, such as, fasting, immunosorption and leukopenic tests, pneumotachometric examination of the lungs. On the basis of examining the disease histories of patients with proven asthmogenic effect of food the clinical features of bronchial asthma of the nutritive genesis are analyzed. Food allergy is of great significance for bronchial asthma formation, and is the cuuse in 42% of asthma cases (84 patients out of 200 examined). Taking into consideration the frequent asthmogenic effect of food allergy and the similarity of the clinical picture of nutritive and infectious allergic bronchial asthma it is suggested that more detailed examinations should be carried out to reveal possible food allergy in that disease.
