Acid-base status of mink blood during storage

Changes in pH, pCO2, pO2, base excess and standard bicarbonate during storage of anaerobically drawn arterial blood for 24 h at different temperatures were measured. Correction tables for determination of the initial acid-base data were constructed from regression equations. Such changes in mink blood were much higher than in equine, porcine, and canine blood during storage at 21-24 deg C and 0-4 deg C for 24 h.
