Serological relationship between Japanese strains of reovirus of bovine origin and type 2 reovirus strains

Two strains of reovirus - BN-77 and C-121R - isolated from cows in Japan were compared serologically with five type-2 strains. From the results, it was "reasonable to conclude that" BN-77 and C-121R strains belong to type-2 virus. There were considerable differences in reactivity among these strains and "This result seems to indicate that the antigenicity of type-2 virus may be complicated".
