A cardiotocographic evaluation of the cold pressor test in pregnancy complicated by severe hypertension

Cold pressor test was performed in 20 hypertensive women in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Concomitant record of fetal heart rate (abdominal indirect fetal ECG) demonstrated a higher incidence of the fhr disturbance in hyperreacting women. Possible causes and applicability of this test in diagnosis, prognosis and survey of high-risk pregnancies are discussed.
