Friend leukemia virus, polycythemic strain (FLV-P), was inoculated into DBA/2 mice. This caused a pronounced decrease of natural killer cell (NK) activity, detectable 3 wk after virus inoculation. This might be explained by FLV-P induction of suppressor cells.
