Indomethacin inhibition of bumetanide diuresis

Previous investigations demonstrate that indomethacin reduces the diuretic effects of furosemide and bumetanide. The diuresis was measured in 10 healthy volunteers after treatment with IM, bumetanide, both preparations and no drugs. A 42% inhibition of diuresis and increase in wt were found on treatment with IM. Fluid retaining effect of IM was demonstrated also when it was taken together with bumetanide, as diuresis was inhibited by 26%.
