The effect of normobaric hyperoxia on the transport of horseradish peroxidase and its situation in the choroid plexus was studied in young rabbits. The studies were performed on 20 day old rabbits in which the blood-brain barrier is already developed both structurally and functionally. Horseradish peroxidase was administered into the abdominal aorta. The perfusion was carried out through the cannula introduced into ascending aorta after 15 min. EM investigation indicates that normobaric hyperoxia results in the changes of the localization of horseradish peroxidase and in increased permeability of the blood-CSF barrier.
