In a population of 140 patients with common psoriasis, the frequency of erythrocyte group systems (ABO, MN) and serum protein group systems (Hp, Gc, Gm) was determined and compared with the results of similar investigations in a control population of healthy subjects. The frequencies of MN, Hp, Gc and Gm(1) traits were analyzed in cumulated populations according to Woolf. The frequency of the Gc1 gene was significantly higher in psoriasis patients. In a cumulated population (Polish, German and Swedish) an increased frequency of the Hp 1-1 phenotype was observed (P < 0.005). In the patients with stationary psoriasis a significantly higher frequency of the ABO system A2 marker (P < 0.005) and of MN system N marker was found in the group, with involvement of 10% or less of body area by psoriatic lesions.
