In the nuclei of mature pigeon erythrocytes 1 type of RNP structures namely interchromatin granules, were revealed by EM. The material containing metabolically stable RNA and having a density in CsCl of 1.36 g/cm3 is the main RNP-component in the extracts of these nuclei. This type of RNP is accumulated in the course of erythrocyte differentiation.
