A study of some selected anthropometric parameters in upper class preschool children of Jabalpur

For 600 urban children 1 to 6 years old from the upper socioeconomic class at Jabalpur, India, selected percentiles for bodyweight, height and circumferences of chest and head compared favourably with the Harvard percentiles during the first year of life but were inadequate thereafter. Skinfold thicknesses (left triceps and subscapular), height and head circumference, in that order, were the measurements which most closely corresponded to Harvard standards, the arm and chest circumferences least closely and bodyweight was intermediate.
