Clinical assessment of trithiozine for duodenal ulcer

A double blind test of placebo, trithiozine or antacid was conducted in 40 patients with duodenal ulcers. Trithiozine decreased basal acid output, but did not influence gastrinemia. Compared to placebo trithiozine did not accelerate ulcer healing. Pain subsided earlier after trithiozine than after antacid.
