The existence of endocervical cyclical changes during the normal menstrual cycle was confirmed by a double blind study. Actual endocervical cell measurements were taken; the height of these endocervical columnar cells increase progressively during the normal menstrual cycle accompanied by stromal changes. The endocervical cell changes recorded varied in different areas of the endocervical canal during different phases of the menstrual cycle.
