Method of blood loss correction for obtaining a real red cell life span

To obtain a real , S = real red cell life span and Mn = red cell count ratio of day n to day 0 after labeling with DF32P. Using the above formula, the theoretical red cell survival curves at various blood loss rates and red cell life spans were constructed using a computer. Real red cell life span was obtained correcting for blood loss in a case of aplastic anemia, 4 cases of Fe deficiency anemia and a case of polycythemia vera.
