Serologic groups of phytopathogenic bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas. I. Antigenic affinity within the species

Serologic relations were determined for 17 spp. and 2 forms of the Pseudomonas genus (303 strains) isolated from 11 host plants and for conditionally pathogenic bacteria (4 spp.), saprophytes (7 spp.) and P. aeruginosa (conditionally pathogenic for people, animals and plants). Some species are characterized by a heterogenous antigenic composition and according to the thermostable antigenic complexes they were divided into 5 serologic groups. The conditionally pathogenic bacteria and saprophytes of the Pseudomonas genus are antigenically distinct from the pathogenic bacteria of this genus.
