The occurrence of cysticercus bovis in cattle livers

Heavy infections with cysticerci were found in the livers of 5 cattle in Nigeria which had no detectable cysticerci in their muscles. The cysts were viable and there were one to 2/cm3 of liver tissue. There was some cellular atrophy around the cysts but minimal cellular reaction. The cysts were identical to those of Taenia saginata.
