Interrelationship of the biological activity of Carpathian soddy-brunizem soil to potato yield

The N-biological index of soil fertility is connected most closely with tuber yield (r = +0.94 .+-. 0.06). The leading role in formation of potato tuber yield belongs to microbiological processes expressed by the N-biological index and the amount of applied fertilizers. A dependence of the potato productivity on the given factors is expressed by the equation: Y = -333.8 + 64.78 .cntdot. I - 0.07 .cntdot. Z, where y is yield of tubers (centner/ha), I is the N-biological index of the soil fertility, and Z is dose of fertilizers (NPK in kg/ha).
