Screening for urogenital candidiasis and trichomoniasis in women working in a textile factory

The authors screened 142 girl apprentices and 159 women employees in a textile factory. Mycotic infection was identified in 12.9% of the subjects examined. In vaginal mycosis, the most frequently occurring pathogenic factors were pregnancy, antibiotic treatment, metronidazole treatment and alterations in the menstrual cycle. Trichomonas vaginalis was present in 6.2% of 301 women workers screened at a textile factory in Ruzomberk, Czechoslovakia.
