Determinations of nucleic acids and glycoproteids in the tissue of the appendage tumours

Determinations of DNA, RNA and MPS-k were made in the tissue of the appendage tumors taken from 38 women following surgical treatment. The determinations of DNA, RNA and MPS-k were made by the methods of Dische, Schneider et Majbaum and Winzler, respectively. Depending on histological examinations, the results were arranged in 2 groups of tumors, carcinoma of the ovary and benign tumors of the ovary, and were statistically analyzed. The examinations showed higher, statistically significant differences in mean DNA, RNA and MPS-k values in the women affected with carcinoma of the ovary in comparison with those obtained in the women with benign tumors. The examinations showed a close statistical and correlative relationship of the DNA, RNA and MPS-k values to morphological structure of the tissues examined.
