The oxygen permeability of the chorion of eggs of Bombyx mori (L.) was measured in studies in Japan in relation to embryonic diapause. Permeability did not change appreciably when eggs were freed from diapause by chilling for a long period. This result suggested that increase in oxygen permeability of the chorion is not a prerequisite for the termination of diapause.
