Population and classification of intrapopulation units of helminths

The definitions of 41 terms (such as abiophenote, biotype, colony, deme, hostophenote, prerace, semaphoront, strain and variety) associated with intrapopulation units are discussed. It is considered that a population is an elementary evolution unit of a species involving biparental reproduction. A classification of helminth intrapopulation units is proposed. This consists of non-taxonomic intrapopulation units (larval and various developmental forms) and taxonomic units.
