As a result of exploitation of the North-Crimean Canal, quantitative and spatial redistribution of biotopes without the impairment of their coenotic connections and formations of new biotopes previously not typical of this region leading to changes in the species composition of the blood-sucking mosquitoes are observed in the territory of the Crimean plains. [Mosquito species studied were Anopheles messeae, A. atroparvus, A. hyrcanus, Uranotaenia unguiculata, Culiseta annulata, C. longiareolata, Mansonia richiardii, Aedes caspius caspius, A. c. dorsalis, A. excrucians, A. flavescens, A. vexans, Culex modestus, C. hortensis, C. theileri and C. pipiens.].
