The radiological and pathological features in a case of secondary amyloidosis involving the gastrointestinal tract

A 56 yr old man is presented with secondary gastrointestinal amyloidosis associated with chronic bronchopleural fistula, empyema and bronchiectasis. Gastrointestinal Ba contrast roentgenograms are performed to differentiate amyloidosis from gastric neoplasm and esophageal achalasia. Diagnosis is confirmed by histopathological examination of the digestive tract at autopsy.
