Data on seasonal activity of blood-sucking mosquitoes of the family Culicidae in the Murmansk [USSR] region are presented. Seventeen species of 4 genera (Anopheles, Culiseta, Aedes and Culex) vary in the time of emergence and duration of flight in different climatic zones of the region. Seasonal activity of attacks of Culiseta and Aedes mosquitoes had a 1-peak curve. Total duration of flight decreases regularly from the south to the north and depends on weather conditions. Periodization of the seasonal activity of Aedes mosquitoes was studied with reference to their behavior, ecology and physiology.
