In checking the current hypotheses on the preservation of the causative agent of plague in natural foci, no evidence of continuous circulation of Yersinia pestis in animals [rodents, ticks] was obtained. Further studies on the possibility of survival of the causative agent of this disease in nature may be regarded as prospective.
