The hypothesis of constant passage of the causative agent of plague was checked on a statistical model in the computer. The process of development of epizootics in the model conformed well with phenomena observed in nature. No stable persistence of the causative agent as a chain of sporadic diseases during the interepizootic period could be reproduced. Introduction into the model program of a factor imitating long-term persistence of the causative agent of plague outside carriers and vectors coordinated well with the behavior of the model with the phenomena observed in nature during the interepizootic period. The rate of manifestations of the additional factor may be very slight.
