Helminths were found in 637 of 697 wild-caught Asian macaques (111 Macaca fascicularis, 297 M. mulatta, 200 M. nemestrina, 39 M. radiata and 50 M. arctoides) autopsied in the USA. Strongyloides fuelleborni (in 31, 134, 49, 10 and 9, respectively), Oesophagostomum sp. (24, 79, 24, 4 and 10), Anatrichosoma sp. (25, 33, 68, 0 and 0), Trichostrongylus sp. (8, 70, 6, 7 and one) and Gongylonema sp. (6, 31, 23, one and 14) were the commonest nematodes, Phaneropsolus sp. (in 11, 8, 3, 0 and 0) was the commonest of 7 genera of trematodes, and the commonest cestodes were cysticerci (Cysticercus cellulosae and others, in 3, 8, 3, 6 and 0) and spargana (5, 0, 4, 0 and one). Various helminth larvae were identified only after feeding to experimental animals. 7 helminths found in M. nemestrina are new hosts records.
