Pernicious anaemia in Sudanese patients

The clinical signs and laboratory findings in 3 patients with pernicious anaemia are described. They were Sudanese of a mixture of Arab and negroid extraction. Pernicious anaemia is uncommon among people of Arab and African origin, but probably not as rare as generally assumed. The possible factors which might have contributed to the occurrence of the disease in the patients are discussed.
