In a series of 60 human bodies, the number of fascicles was not related to other properties of the nerve or characteristics of the subjects. The surface area of cross sections of the fascicles was distinctly related to the number of myelinated fibers. Correlation between the surface area of the fascicles and age, stature and body weight was noted in a considerable percentage of cases. Whether the number of myelinated fibers is correlated with age, stature or body weight could not be established. The index of density of fibers, age, stature and body weight were negatively correlated in a majority of cases.
