Among 348 students, 46.3% were infected with 2 types of fungus and 33% with 1 type. Trichophyton and Candida were the main causes of skin lesions seen in 32 students. Of 25 studied 1 yr later, 10 had clinical symptoms. Dermatophytes (mostly T. mentagrophytes) were cultured from 29 students with no clinical symptoms. Of these 29, 24 were seen 1 yr later and 18 had clinical symptoms.
