Suspected carcinogenic or mutagenic effects of dimethylcarbamoyl chloride and diethylcarbamoyl chloride are investigated in 10 human subjects exposed to these substances for 4-10 yr. Karyotypic analysis of lymphocytic cultures incubated with phytohemagglutinin reveals statistically insignificant numbers of chromosome aberrations when compared to unexposed control groups. Endomitosis consisting of tetraploid cells with diplochromosomes are reported in metaphases (1-2%) of lymphocyte and fibroblast cultures.
