Japanese pieris poisoning in the goat

One fatal and one nonfatal case of Pieris japonica poisoning in goats prompted experimental feeding of the plant at 0.1% of a healthy goat's body weight. Clinical signs observed included colic and nausea. The principal necropsy finding was inhalation pneumonia.
